FAQ

Everything we’re often asked—so you can decide faster.

Getting started

How long does a typical project take?

Simple sites (3–5 pages): 1–2 weeks once content is ready. Our “One-Day Website” is built in a single day after a short pre-flight. Larger projects (e-commerce, custom features) vary—tell us your deadline and we’ll propose a plan.

What do you need from me to get started?

Brand basics (or we’ll create them), rough structure/sitemap, any existing copy or images. We’ll refine everything with you. We agree scope, milestones, and a single point of contact to keep it smooth.

What makes a great brief?

Goals, audience, 3–5 reference sites (what you like/why), required pages/features, deadline, constraints (budget, brand rules). If unsure, we’ll guide you in a short workshop.

Process & scope

What’s your process?
  1. Kick-off & scope confirmation
  2. Wireframe & visual direction
  3. Build (iterative, you see progress)
  4. Content load & QA
  5. Go-live & handover
What is your revisions policy?

For each major deliverable we include 2 rounds of revisions within scope. Extra rounds are possible as a mini-package or hourly. Small copy tweaks and image swaps don’t count as a full round.

What counts as a “revision” vs a “new feature”?

Revisions: adjustments to layout, typography, colours, imagery, or wording within the agreed structure.
New features: new sections/pages, new integrations (chat, booking), changes to flows (e.g., checkout). New features are estimated separately.

How fast do you implement revisions?

Minor edits: 1–2 business days.
Larger layout changes: 3–5 business days.
Maintenance plan clients are prioritised.

Design & content

Can you help with copywriting and images?

Yes. We can draft copy and source/licence stock. We also optimise images (format/size) for performance and quality.

Can you create or extend my brand?

We can design a simple brand kit (logo, colours, fonts) or work with your existing guidelines.

Do you support accessibility?

We build with semantic HTML and good contrast by default. WCAG 2.1 AA objectives can be scoped explicitly if required.

Tech, hosting & CMS

Where will the site be hosted?

We recommend reliable UK/EU hosts with SSL and good support. We avoid lock-in and keep things portable. We can deploy to your host if preferred.

Can you help with domain and DNS?

Yes. We can set up DNS records, SSL, redirects, and email routing. You keep control of your registrar account.

Do I need a CMS?

Not always. For small sites, static pages are fastest and simplest. For frequent updates we’ll propose a CMS (e.g., WordPress or a lightweight headless option).

Do you set up backups and monitoring?

Yes, as part of a maintenance plan (backups, updates, uptime checks). On ad-hoc we can also configure one-off backups.

Can you help with business email (SPF, DKIM, DMARC)?

Yes. We can configure DNS for better deliverability and help pick a provider (e.g., Microsoft 365, Google Workspace).

SEO, analytics & performance

Will my site be SEO-ready?

We include technical SEO foundations: clean HTML, metadata/Open Graph, robots.txt, sitemap.xml, sensible headings and internal links.

What analytics do you support?

Google Analytics or privacy-friendly tools (e.g., Plausible/Matomo). Non-essential analytics run only after consent via our cookie banner.

Can you optimise Core Web Vitals?

Yes. We compress images, defer non-critical scripts, and keep the stack lean. Results depend on content, host and third-party widgets.

E-commerce & integrations

Can you integrate payments or bookings?

Yes—Stripe/PayPal for payments and reputable booking tools where needed. We keep it simple and secure.

Do you connect CRMs, chat, or newsletter tools?

Yes. We can integrate popular CRMs, live chat and email marketing platforms. Third-party tools operate under their own terms.

Privacy, cookies & security

How do you handle cookies and consent?

Our banner offers Accept / Decline / Manage with categories. Optional scripts load only after consent. You can change choices anytime via “Cookie settings”.

Do you provide a Privacy Policy?

Yes—plain-English, UK-ready, aligned with your actual data flows. We also set up cookie categories and a consent log (local storage).

What security measures do you use?

HTTPS, least-privilege access, updates, backups, and minimal third-party code. For higher assurance, we can scope hardening and monitoring.

Handover, support & warranty

Do I own the website and assets?

Yes. You own the final deliverables once paid in full. Working files/tools can be provided on request (may involve a handling fee).

What happens at handover?

We provide logins, deployment notes, and a simple guide. Optional training call available.

Do you provide a warranty after go-live?

Yes — 30-day bugfix warranty for defects against the signed-off scope (supported browsers/devices). Third-party changes and new features are excluded.

Do you offer ongoing support or SLA?

Yes. Maintenance plan or ad-hoc. Typical SLA targets: P1 response within 2 business hours (workaround/rollback within 8), P2 by next business day, P3 within 2 business days.

How much will it cost?

It depends on scope, content readiness and any integrations. For a quick reference, see our Pricing page with starting points. Typical entry points:

  • Landing Page — from £99
  • Multi-Page Website — from £499
  • E-commerce — from £699

What are your payment terms?

Invoices are due within 14 days unless stated otherwise. A deposit is required once you approve our proposal and scope of work (SOW). We keep it simple: deposit before we start, then the remaining balance on delivery/launch.

  • Standard websites & branding: 30% deposit, 70% on delivery/launch.
  • E-commerce / complex builds: 40% deposit, 60% on launch.
  • One-Day Website & small design (logo, banners, business cards): 50% deposit (or 100% for guaranteed 24-hour turnaround), balance on delivery if not prepaid.
  • Maintenance plans: billed monthly in advance.
  • Ad-hoc support: £45/hour; discounted hour bundles are prepaid.

Prices exclude VAT where applicable.

How do you handle scope changes mid-project?

We document the change, provide a mini-estimate (cost + time impact), and—once approved—add it as a separate task/milestone.

Do you sign NDAs?

Yes, if required. Let us know before the project starts.

Will you show my project in your portfolio?

We may showcase non-confidential work unless we agree otherwise (e.g., NDA/embargo).

Is there any work you don’t take on?

We don’t support illegal content, hate, or unsafe practices. Extremely urgent turnarounds may be declined if quality would suffer.
